MEET JOJO: An Open Book, a Warm Heart

People often ask me, "Who is Jojo?" The short answer? I'm an open book.

I'm a proud Mexican hillbilly who grew up between Peoria, Illinois, and Bremen, Indiana, before eventually making Arizona my home. My life has been full of incredible joy, deep heartbreak, unexpected twists, and more lessons than I ever imagined.

I lost my father to leukemia when I was just a baby, and throughout my life I've experienced more loss than I ever thought possible. Cancer touched my family again and again. I lost my grandmother when I was young, and in 2018, I lost my mom after having the privilege of caring for her during the last seven months of her life.

That season changed me forever.

Growing up wasn't always easy, but I was surrounded by family members who taught me what loyalty, resilience, and generosity looked like. My grandparents, uncles, and cousins were the kind of people who would give you the shirt off their back. They believed in showing up for one another, and that's a value I've carried with me my entire life.

At eighteen, I moved to Arizona and started building a life of my own. Eventually, I became a registered nurse, spending nearly two decades caring for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Nursing taught me the importance of compassion, listening without judgment, and meeting people exactly where they are.

Life continued to bring both beautiful moments and difficult ones. Marriage, divorce, loss, healing, and starting over all became chapters in my story. Through every experience, I discovered something that would eventually become the foundation of Glitter House: Every person carries a story.

Sometimes people need someone who will simply listen. Sometimes they need encouragement. Sometimes they need help seeing a path forward. And sometimes they just need someone to remind them that they still have light inside them.

That's why I created Glitter House.

Glitter House isn't about pretending life is perfect. It's about finding hope in the middle of life's messiest moments. It's about learning to love yourself so you can better love others. It's about discovering balance, finding peace, and taking one step forward—even when life feels overwhelming.

My hope is that when people spend time with me, they leave feeling lighter, more confident, and more connected to who they truly are.

Because I believe every person deserves to shine.

And sometimes, all it takes is someone who believes in your light until you're ready to see it yourself.
